HEAT TREATMENT

The heat treatment process adopts the cooling and heating operation applied to the alloy or metal in the solid state. Fasteners are heated to achieve the required changes in rigidity, smoothness, ductility and material strength. The microstructure of metal parts is changed by annealing process to reduce manufacturing operations.

In this process, the three most commonly used furnaces are rotary, intermittent and continuous mesh belt.

This operation involves huge energy and cost investment. Therefore, it is wise to keep several points in mind when heat treating fasteners.

1. Pay attention to the chemical properties of elements
2. Heat treatment of fasteners
3. Cleaning and drying of parts
4. Prevent parts from bending and thread damage
5. Control annealing operation
6. Keep even belt load
